Reclaiming the rainbow; Rabbi Kirt Schneider explains the biblical significance of God’s promise in the sky

Rabbi Kirt Schneider utilizes Hebrew methods of prophecy to point to Christ as Messiah in new book, ‘Messianic Prophecy Revealed

COLUMBUS, Ohio  The rainbow, God’s promise of forgiveness and redemption from the book of Genesis, has become a defiant symbol of sin in today’s modern culture. In an effort to take back this heavenly display of God’s love, author and evangelist Rabbi Kirt A. Schneider recently analyzed the biblical meaning and symbolism of the rainbow.

“The LGBTQ+ community has hijacked the rainbow, but it is meant for a much more glorious purpose,” said Schneider. “Rainbows and color are very much a part of the visible manifestation of the glory of God. For example, in the book of Ezekiel, when Ezekiel saw the Lord, ‘He was like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance around him. This was the appearance of the lightness of the glory of the Lord...’ God made the rainbow, and it’s a powerful manifestation of His glory and beauty.”

The rainbow is very mystical when you consider that it has seven different colors, according to Schneider. “It’s noteworthy that there are seven colors in the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Seven is a powerful number in the Bible. It often symbolizes ‘completeness,’ with many instances throughout the Bible that show the importance of ‘seven.’ There were seven days in creation; there was a menorah with seven candles in the tabernacle; even in the book of Revelation, there are seven churches that Yeshua addresses, seven seals, seven bowls of wrath, and seven trumpets.

“Delving even further into the makeup of the rainbow, there are three primary colors: red, yellow, and blue. Three is also a powerful number in Scripture. The temple had three different sections: the outer court, the holy place, and the Holy of Holies. There are three patriarchs in the Hebrew Bible: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And of course, we have the Holy Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

Schneider continued, “It is fascinating to consider these nuances hidden within the rainbow, for they further explain God’s purpose in this beautiful sign. The rainbow reminds us that we can trust the promises of God and that He will do what He said He will do. This is especially poignant once you incorporate the fullness of the Messiah into your life.

“The rainbow should remind us of the everlasting covenant that God has entered into with humanity. No matter what the world might say about the rainbow, Christians should know its’ true meaning and have faith in the promises of the Most High God.”

Rabbi Schneider has long been deciphering biblical text and identifying the Messianic prophecies found throughout Scripture. His latest book, Messianic Prophecy Revealed, takes readers on a journey through the Word of God, showing them how the New Testament writers took passages out of the Old Testament to prove that Jesus truly is the Messiah.

“After reading this book, you will have no doubts that Jesus is the Messiah, and you will be able to read the Old Testament with the newfound revelation that God has been pointing to His Son as the Savior of the world for thousands of years,” said Schneider.
