Rabbi Kirt Schneider analyzes Christ’s fulfillment of Easter prophecies in groundbreaking new book

‘When we step back and consider the scale, scope, and preciseness of Isaiah’s Messianic prophecies and exactly how Yeshua fulfilled each of them, it truly is astonishing’

COLUMBUS, Ohio  As Christians around the world prepare to celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, acclaimed author and evangelist Rabbi Kirt A. Schneider is urging believers to consider the magnitude of Christ’s sacrifice when considered in the light of Old Testament prophecies that foretold the crucifixion. Schneider’s recent book, Messianic Prophecy Revealed, helps readers uncover the beauty and depth of scriptural prophesies concerning Christ’s arrival and purpose in God’s plan for humanity.

“The book of Isaiah contains some of the strongest prophecy about the Messiah in the Hebrew Bible,” Schneider said. “Isaiah 53 describes the rejection, contempt, and suffering the Messiah would have to endure in order to bring healing and salvation to the world. Indeed, this chapter in the Tanakh (or Hebrew Bible) is both foundational as well as a summit point of Messianic prophecy.

“Isaiah foresaw that the Messiah would be rejected, but the idea of the Messiah being rejected by Israel, although clearly seen by Isaiah, largely escaped the religious leadership of Yeshua’s day. They were not looking for a Messiah who would be rejected, suffer and die. They were looking for someone who would be king and would lead the Jewish nation into freedom and reign in Israel.”

Schneider continued, “Isaiah explains that Yeshua was not crucified as a punishment for His own transgressions but that He willingly took on the punishment for ours: ‘He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed’ (Isa. 53:5). As previously discussed, the Torah, through the Levitical sacrificial system, and the Tanakh, particularly Isaiah 53, teach the concept of substitutionary, sacrificial atonement, whereby we see that the innocent can atone for the guilty by the giving of their own life. This is what Yeshua did.

“Incredibly and regally, Yeshua sacrificed His life without maintaining His innocence or railing against the injustice being done to Him. Isaiah 53:7 says, ‘He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb that is led to slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth.’ Standing before Pilate about to be crucified, Jesus did not object. He did not shout. He did not protest, ‘But I’m innocent!’ Rather, He stood there in silence, just like the prophet Isaiah said He would. He did not defend Himself.

“When we step back and consider the scale, scope, and preciseness of Isaiah’s Messianic prophecies and exactly how Yeshua fulfilled each of them, it truly is astonishing. We see again why Messianic prophecy does not merely engage the mind but builds faith, strengthening the fire of the love of God in our hearts. It is impossible for us as true disciples of Jesus to study the Hebrew prophecies of Messiah deeply and not be touched with the love of God!”

Rabbi Schneider has long been deciphering biblical text and identifying the Messianic prophecies found throughout Scripture. His latest book takes readers on a journey through the Word of God, showing them how the New Testament writers took passages out of the Old Testament to prove that Jesus truly is the Messiah.
